Welcome to
the Contemporary Club
of Indianapolis
Founded by May Wright Sewall in 1890, our club was conceived to generate discussion on relevant topics, feature distinguished speakers in all fields and serve as a “mirror of its times”.
Our nearly 300 members gather for monthly Dinner & Speaker Events from September through May, except for November, January and February. They represent a spectrum of ages, interests, backgrounds, expertise and a commitment to learning about the world around us.
Who are we?
The Contemporary Club of Indianapolis strives to provide a comfortable and friendly, yet stimulating and dynamic, environment in which our members can explore a spectrum of subjects central to our rapidly-changing times. If you are intellectually-curious, and desire the opportunity to gather monthly with others for enlightening talks and generative discussions, then club membership could be a good fit for you too.

Leadership
The Contemporary Club of Indianapolis is led by a board of directors, which is elected annually by club members. The board includes a president, president-elect, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer.
