Founded by May Wright Sewall in 1890, our club was conceived to generate discussion on relevant topics, feature distinguished speakers in all fields and serve as a “mirror of its times.”

And the strength of her concept, its relevance and tradition endures! The Contemporary Club of Indianapolis strives to provide a comfortable and friendly, yet stimulating and dynamic, environment in which our members can explore a spectrum of subjects central to our rapidly-changing times.

If you are intellectually-curious, and desire the opportunity to gather monthly with others for enlightening talks and generative discussions, then membership in our club is a good fit.

Our nearly 400 members gather for monthly dinner programs from September through May, except for January and February. They represent a spectrum of ages, interests, backgrounds, expertise and a commitment to learning about the world around us.
